If you want to learn more about using a computer in a relaxed and fun setting, BAPTIST HEALTH offers the classes you need. If you want to use your knowledge to teach computer skills to others, BAPTIST HEALTH's SeniorNet Program may be the place for you, too.

BAPTIST HEALTH's SeniorNet classes allow students to learn at their own pace from SeniorNet volunteer trainers who teach the courses in an easy-to-understand language and format. Even if you know absolutely nothing about computers or are intimidated about learning how to use a computer or are intimidated about starting, the SeniorNet program at BAPTIST HEALTH will have you sending e-mail, exploring the Internet, and using other computer programs, such as Microsoft Word, in no time.

"Many senior adults are so intimidated about leaning how to use a computer that they really need the classroom setting like ours to be able to get past the intimidation and focus on learning," said Johnnie Holmes, a volunteer trainer in the BAPTIST HEALTH SeniorNet Program.

One of the great things about BAPTIST HEALTH's SeniorNet classes is that other seniors teach them, some who once went through he program just like the people they are teaching. Additional volunteer trainers are always welcome to join our expanding group. The SeniorNet learning materials are easy to use and understand and very popular with the students and volunteers.

SeniorNet has an international membership of computer users who can communicate with each other through the www.seniornet.org web site. The SeniorNet community has tens of thousands of members, both computer novices and experienced users. More than 100,000 older adults have been introduced to computers through SeniorNet Learning Centers and have enhanced and enriched their lives and the live of others through their computer use.

In order to take SeniorNet classes at BAPTIST HEALTH, a student must first pay a $40 annual membership fee to SeniorNet. Students can then take any SeniorNet class at any SeniorNet location from the class fee of that particular Learning Center.
